June Wedding

After more than a dozen freebies...I recently had one of my first PAYING wedding gigs! The bride was sooooooo sweet and wonderful to work with. I accosted her and her fiance in a Target last December. I could tell they were engaged and buying lights for a wedding. I chatted with them shortly and then got up the nerve to give them my card in the parking lot later. You can check out the rest of the pics on my flower blog.

Josh is very excited to get me going on doing more work so we are working on an ad and what we would like to do for the holidays. We eventually will work on a website and even acquire a cooler! I hope that next wedding season I will be busy busy busy!

Summer Girl

We are enjoying the Bluegrass in the Square again this summer. It has been really hot so we have not gone that often but hope to enjoy it more later in the season when we
HOPE it cools off a little!

Rock N Romp

Another Rock N Romp. This one was held next to the Ornamental Metal Museum here. (That has shown Uncle Kai's work!!) The kids were able to do these awesome murals.

I plan on entering a craft fair in October making these felt hair clips. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful model!

Friend's Footprints

One of the Moms in our playgroup had a great idea to have all of us paint our footprints on canvas. It was a little difficult to figure out and get everyone organized but the outcome was ADORABLE! Most of these kids have been playing together since birth and we have played with them since we moved here. Their footprints are immortalized and hanging on Elia's wall.

Maier 1st Annual Car Rally

We recently attended another one of my friend's awesome parties. Her family had these when she lived in California and she is continuing the tradition here In Memphis. It was soooooo much fun. Essentially you are put into teams and then you have a list of things that you have to go out and find and take pictures of. Each thing has a point value. If you are able to get more than one thing in a photo, you get more points since you were only allowed a total of 25 pictures. We had two hours to finish and then we all went back to the house and the hosts loaded up the points. Well, we had amazing team mates and we wen the extra mile as you can see from the pictures (and there are photos that really put us on top that we could not publish!!) and we are the proud winners of the First Annual Maier Car Rally!! I am VERY excited for next year and we have some rival teams that are determined to take our title.

Rehearsal on the beach

Theresa and Paul's wedding

Theresa and Paul's wedding was amazing. There was really bad weather for the first three days we were there, but the skies parted for the big day and was perfect. I worked really hard on the flowers and enjoyed every minute of it. Theresa is an amazing print maker and handmade almost every detail of the wedding. Elia had a great time being the flower girl and loved having Grandma Robin there too. I am not sure I will ever wear the Maid of Honor and floral designer hat at the same time ever again but it was for a great friend.

Fun with Cousins

We had a wonderful time at the wedding and then were off to visit family. Elia adored her cousins and had a great time playing with them.
