Sleepy

Elia has been refusing to take naps lately. She was so tired, she fell asleep for the first time in her high chair. I am talking to Josh on the phone in the beginning.

Elia walking

We had a horrific day today. Elia was up all night and would not nurse. She went 23 hours with no nursing and very little fluids. She has an ear infection. After forcing fluids and lots of patience, she finally nursed and is feeling better. So much so that....she did this!!
This was my reward at the end of a very long day.

Ten months old

I turned ten months old today! Mommy and Daddy almost forgot.
This month has been hard on Mommy I think. I have been sick and so has she. It has been very cold here in Memphis and we even had snow. I have a cough and Mommy says I sound like Lyndsay Lohan. Whoever that is.

I also keep scaring Mommy. Last week she thought I was napping and I actually pulled the pillows into my crib and climbed onto her bed. I like to climb things. I was just playing with a book on her bed and it was fun for awhile, but then I slipped and fell onto the floor. That was not fun. She was really scared. I think I got in trouble too because I got kicked out of Mommy and Daddy's room. Now I have my own room with all my stuff in it. I miss Mommy and Daddy but I think I will get used to it. I am sleeping a little bit better too.

There is a futon in my room that I like to sit on with Mom and practice standing. I scared her again when I jumped over her and landed on my face on the floor. I hope I get this standing thing down so I stop hurting myself.

I also really want to walk. I practice a lot with the stroller my Aunt Heidi got me. I go to a music class with Mommy and they dance and I think that I would like to dance too so I better learn quick. Mommy says I need to because I am going to be a flower girl in May. I have to walk in sand and supposedly that is pretty hard to do. I was not too crazy about sand when I was in Florida but I am willing to give it another shot.

Let's see, what else?

I have six teeth now. I am trying new things. Sometimes I like carrots and green beans. I like crackers and cheerios too. Or sometimes waffles. But nothing is as good as Mommy's milk. I did get a new chair. I like it much better than the other one. I am higher up and feel like a big girl.
I really am getting to be a big girl. My hair is getting longer and Mom thinks I am going to be like seven feet tall.

I can not wait for this weather to get better. I miss being outside. Mommy keeps saying we will go to the zoo. I have never been to one but they sound cool. I love going to places with Mommy and Daddy. They make me laugh. Especially Daddy.

Next month should be another interesting one so stay tuned!

Ten months old

Elia REALLY wants to stand up on her own. She sits on her knees a lot and you can tell she is thinking about it. It is so cute. Any day now I expect her to just shoot up.
She is using Daddy as a spotter!
She does this a lot on the bed and the other day took a nose dive over me and onto the floor! We were on our futon so she was closer to the ground. Landed right on her face and I freaked. She is pretty resilient..... a few days prior, she fell of our bed! I was not in the room to witness that! She climbed over into our bed when I thought she was napping. (her crib was sidecarred up against our bed) Needless to say, Elia has been sleeping in her own room with the crib all put together for a week now!!

New high chair

Elia grew out of her little seat we had her in for feedings. We ordered this high chair from Ikea. I soooo wish there was one near to here. I think she rather likes it!

Inauguration Day

Since Elia saw Obama while in the womb and joined us on Voting day, I allowed her to watch the inauguration with me all day long. It was amazing. I sat there and wept and told Elia how amazing this was and that her whole life will be different because of it.
