Christmas 2008

Even after all three of us getting sick, our tree being bug infested, and the weather being horrible, we managed to have a nice Christmas. Elia got wonderful gifts from family and she has enjoyed playing with them all. The weather finally turned warmer here in Memphis on Christmas day and we went on a nice walk in a park. We have had many discussions about the new family traditions we'd like to start and share with Elia. A family holiday stroll seems to be our first. Josh and I also made our first pot roast and we were able to enjoy it in peace while Elia slept. It was very nice. We hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Eight Months Old!

I am now eight months old! This past month has been a BIG one for me. I discovered crawling and think I have it perfected. I never knew there there was so much more to explore in our apartment! Mom has had fun chasing after me while I go from room to room. I also have realized that I can climb things. I like to climb everything. I don't think mom enjoys this. She gets all worried when I get near the TV or the bookcase. I also am good at getting from one end of the couch to the other. I do this in my crib too. It is a much more entertaining place now!
I have decided that real food is not so bad. That mushy stuff it not too good but Cheerios are awesome. Thanks for suggesting them to Mommy Aunt Heidi! I am still working on picking them up and putting them in my mouth myself. I do prefer to eat this way so I hope I figure it out soon. Mom likes to give me banana, carrots, and sweet potato. Yummy. Daddy doesn't seem to like the mess I make but I am just a baby! I have two teeth on the bottom and another one coming in on top! Man they bother me. When they hurt it puts me in a terrible mood.
I also really like to talk. No one seems to understand me but I just keep talking. I make a sound that makes Daddy giddy. Da da da da. I think he thinks I am talking to him. We are going to Florida to visit soon. I so very excited to meet my Tia. I have never met her and my Dad thinks we will have a lot of fun.
